Phenomenal CEO to speak at Telecom Policy Summit

Should Minnesota be allowed to regulate Voice over IP?

Edina, Minneapolis – The eyes of the telecom policy world shifted to Minnesota on September 11, 2003 as the Minnesota PUC issued its historic ruling that gives Vonage - www.vonage.com - 30 days to comply with regulation or get out of providing voice over the Internet services. Vonage is expected to file for injunctive relief in federal Court.

These issues will be discussed on October 22, 2003 at the Telecom Policy Summit to be held at the Marriott SW in Minnetonka. A high-powered team of both local and national experts have been assembled to review the status of these actions and to provide a clear understanding of the implications of the proposed regulation.

Dave Shepherdson, CEO of Edina based Phenomenal Networks has been invited to be one of the panel of experts during the summit. "We are one of the local expert companies focusing on helping companies optimize their communication costs using both voice and video over IP", said Shepherdson, "There are many aspects to this proposal that need to be clarified and so avoid confusion for the many companies that can legitimately use this technology."

Phenomenal will be exhibiting the VoIP (Voice over IP), Cisco-based system recently used for the Schwan's USA CUP where International youth soccer players made over 6,000 free calls home; saving over $100,000 during the week long tournament. Phenomenal will also be presenting the Onvoy converged IP services solution that is part of the recently forged strategic relationship between the companies.
